Barcelona stars don double denim - ESPN FC (blog)

Lionel Messi and his Barcelona teammates wear double denim before Champions League matches.

With a midweek Champions League clash against Man City to prepare for, the Barcelona entourage boarded their private plane and made their way to the sunny north west of England.

Photos of the trip served as a stark reminder that, as part of the club's commercial partnership with a fashion brand, the Barca players are contractually obliged to travel everywhere wearing identical double denim outfits.

Which led to scenes like this when they touched down at Manchester Airport on Tuesday morning.

The overall upshot is that every time the Barca squad meander through an airport departure lounge together they look like a professional line-dance troupe heading for some Country & Western convention somewhere.

To be perfectly honest, we're not entirely sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
