Fergie wears double denim as she heads to recording studio in New York - Daily Mail

She's just released a new album.

But Fergie was back in the studio on Thursday in New York City for a recording session.

The 41-year-old songstress kept a downcast expression as her bodyguard - former Kim Kardashian's - kept a close eye while she made her way inside while wearing double denim.

The Fergalicious singer bundled up in a light blue denim jacket that featured a white fuzzy hood to keep her warm.

Underneath, Fergie layered the jacket with a grey sweatshirt that read, California, as she threw on a pair of patched denim jeans to complete the look.

Rounding out the ensemble, the pop singer added a pair of beige booties with a matching color purse she carried in her hand.

Her blonde locks were down, parted to the side, as she accessorized with round-shaped sunglasses, multiple rings and large hoop earrings.

Trailing behind Fergie was Kim Kardashian's former bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, who was 'let go' by the reality star after she was robbed in Paris, France in early October.

Despite the controversy, it appears Fergie is happy to have Pascal around, being spotted with him multiple times since his first reappearance in November.

And the singer's heavily active lifestyle as of late is mostly due to the promotion of her reissued 2006 album, The Dutchess.

Renaming it, The Double Dutchess, the London Bridges hitmaker has already released two singles under the album titled M.I.L.F and Life Goes On.

Speaking with People, the mom-of-one told the outlet that the album features songs that highlight who she is and how she's changed in the past decade.

'It’s all over the map because if it wasn’t, that wouldn’t be true to who I am...I’ve had plenty of life experiences since my last album...In the 10 years, I’ve had a lot of things to say, and I write in my journals — I’m old-school,' Fergie said.

She added: 'Life Goes On is the tip of the iceberg as far as where, emotionally, it goes. I just wanted to show people that, a little bit different of a sentiment, and it just happened to be the right moment.'

'There’s one called Love Is Pain that’s extremely emotional, that I did with Toby Gad as well, who I did Big Girls Don’t Cry with and Life Goes On,' the songstress continued. 'And I have another one with him called Save It ‘Til Morning. Yeah, a few subjects…They just came from my journals.'
