Khloe Kardashian's new fashion label Good American made $1 million in sales on the first day of its launch, according to the brand, making it the "biggest denim launch in history."
The jeans brand, which the reality TV star founded with Emma Grede, made its debut on October 18 with three styles, available in a size-inclusive range of 00 to 24. Despite fashion's current focus on wide cuts and rigid denim styles, the duo have focused on body-skimming, flexible pieces with reinforced waistbands to eliminate any gap between the waist and hips. And while the 'Good Legs' skinny fit and 'Good Cuts' boyfriend fit have obviously fared well, it is the high-waisted skinny jean 'Good Waist' that has been a runaway success, selling out twice since the launch.
Grede has attributed the success to the duo's attention to detail, saying: "Making curves look good is not just something we say, it's a demand our product has to deliver for our customers. We eat and sleep fit." For her part, Kardashian says: "I'm so happy with the success we have had in the last month, but we have so far to go. This is only the beginning."
The brand, whose jeans are all manufactured in the US and stocked online at www.goodamerican.com and in selected Nordstrom boutiques, is now preparing to launch its first denim skirts, shorts and jackets, as of January 2017. It will also be speeding up its productivity, releasing a new product on a bi-weekly basis from next month.
Good American isn't Kardashian's first foray into the fashion industry -- in 2006 she co-founded the clothing and accessory line 'Dash' alongside sisters Kim and Kourtney, which now boasts three stores in Los Angeles, New York and Miami Beach.
