MUNDY TOWNSHIP, Mich. - The first annual Denim and Diamonds event shined light on a good cause in Genesee County Friday night.

Decked out in jeans and some bling, people came out to the event to raise money for the Weiss Child Advocacy Center which helps abused and neglected children.

The owners of Pure Bliss organized the event in an effort to help the community in which they work.

“If you have a business in the community you should be involved in the community in any way that you can't if I way of giving back we have a wonderful staff and we see a lot of people in the community in our business and this is definitely a way of trying to give I can make a difference in the areas that we do business in and that we live in,” said Pure Bliss owner Melissa Withey.

A Weiss representative says this event will help them continue to provide services for the more than 500 children they serve a year in Genesee County, all of whom have been sexually assaulted or neglected.
