Remember thong jeans? Get ready for another skin-baring style that’s even more … rash.
Parisian label Y/Project, the same crew who brought us thigh-high UGGS for $800, has crafted a high-fashion “jantie” (yes, that’s a jean pantie), and it’s truly throwing the internet into a brief meltdown.
According to Montreal luxury e-tailer SSENSE, currently stocking the bootylicious bottom for a confusing $315, they’re versatile. (Say, what?)
“These ‘brief-style shorts’ can be worn under or over pants, meaning they’re far more versatile than what you’d traditionally expect from a pair of briefs. Underwear that doesn’t need to stay ‘under there.’”
The Canadian site was gung-ho over the cheeky look and promoted it on its Instagram, yet social media naysayers came out in full throttle.
“This def ain’t it ladies,” proclaims one Insta commenter.
“Two words… yeast infection,” says another.
Oddly, this isn’t the second time skivvy jeans have been in the spotlight: PrettyLittleThing, the budget fashion brand beloved and endorsed by Instagram models, unveiled its “Mid Wash Denim Knicker” before last year’s Coachella festival. (Can you say Chaf-chella? Ouch!)
The real question is: Who will dare to bare this denim diaper first?
