MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -
Saturady night guests rocked their finest blue denim for the 5th annual Blue Jean Ball at Camp Muffly in Morgantown.
Hosted by the WV Land Trust and in partnership with the Mon River Trails Conservancy, the ball aimed to raise awareness and funds for green spaces throughout Mon Valley.
The trust hopes that by creating and protecting these recreational green spaces it will help economic and residential growth in the area.
"Every community that wants to grow in West Virginia depends on people wanting to come and live there. and the more parks and rail trails and preserves that we create, the more attractive we're going to be for business that want to come to our area," said Brent Bailey, Executive Director with the WV Land Trust.
Over 200 people showed up to celebrate Saturday. The event also featured local craft beers, the trust says great beer depends on clean water.
