Name: Tim Waziak, 45.
Who he is: The guy behind Timothy Aaron Creative who designed a room called “Surface Details” at the 2019 Decorators’ Show House. He graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with an associate’s degree in fashion, buying and merchandising. His background includes working as a design assistant in New York in children’s wear and in a multitude of jobs at the Torrid headquarters outside Los Angeles, including digital marketing and fashion show production. The 1992 graduate of Lancaster High School lives in Hamburg. You can follow him on Instagram @timothy.creative, where he describes himself as “Designer. Merchandiser. Rehab-er. Decorator. Picker. Stylist. Builder. Marketer. Creative.”
What he’s wearing: Classic Levi’s; black t-shirt; denim shirt from Zara. He is aware that some call this denim-on-denim look the Texas Tuxedo. Lace-up boots and mirrored aviator sunglasses complete the outfit.
Signature pieces: Denim, always denim. “I also like clothes that are utilitarian, so I like jackets with big pockets,” he said.
Fashion statement: “What I’ve chosen to do the last few years is to adopt a uniform. I really don’t want to have to think about what I put on every morning. I want people to notice me, not notice what I’m wearing. So there’s a pretty good chance everyday I’m wearing jeans, a denim shirt or a denim jacket and a T-shirt that’s either black, white or gray. Every so often I do like to bust out something that’s totally unexpected and out of the norm, but it’s kind of few and far between these days. I do have an appreciation, though, for really well-made clothes. I have a few pairs of Italian shoes that I will never give up,” he said.
“I believe everybody should wear what makes them comfortable, but you’re also presenting yourself to the world so you have to dress like you respect yourself and then the rest of the world will respect you,” he added.
Last purchase: A fanny pack.
In the market for: “I pretty much have everything I need. It’s more about if it jumps out and says, ‘buy me,’ ” he said.
