Converse Adds Sustainable Denim Materials to their Chuck Taylor 1970 - Sneaker News

With the continuous environmental issues that arise in our world everyday, many apparel and footwear brands alike have spoke out in support of sustainable fashion – a movement dedicated to encouraging brands to reduce the amount of waste on our planet by integrating recycled materials into their products. Earlier this summer, Converse announced their commitment to sustainability by introducing “Converse Renew”, a three-part release that includes Renew Canvas, Renew Denim, and Renew Cotton featuring upcycled materials into the iconic Chuck Taylor All-Star or Chuck 70. As a follow up to the canvas pairs that released last month, their Renew Denim collection will include two new models of the Chuck 70 High and one of the Chuck 70 Low that feature a light, medium, and dark wash, all repurposed from recycled jeans once found in landfills. Each shoe rides atop a glossy white midsole and is completed with a white outsole accented with navy speckled detailing – a Chuck 70 staple. If you’d like to get your hands on a pair, mark your calendars for an August 22nd release date as these will be available on converse.com and select Converse retailers globally.
