Reese Witherspoon just brought back denim on denim and we are in love with it

Look, we were all really jazzed when chambray shirts and jean jackets became super-cool again, because who doesn’t look awesome in a chambray shirt? Or a jean jacket, for that matter?

Still, these easy-to-wear trends present a problem when your only clean pair of pants is jeans. Denim on denim? Fashion gasp!

That’s as big a no-no as white after Labor Day! One mustn’t! Well, you can obviously do whatever, you do you, guys, but it’s a little nerve-wracking wearing two denims. Like, aren’t you always looking over your shoulder fearing that people are snickering and whispering “Canadian tuxedo” as you walk by?

Lucky for us, Our Lady of Good Taste and Impeccable Style, Reese Witherspoon, recently CRUSHED a denim on denim look, proving to us all that it IS possible, if you, like, tuck in your shirt, and slip into a rad pair of boots. Check it:

Note that one of Reese’s pals is rocking chambray while the other is sporting a great pair of cuffed jeans, but Ms. Witherspoon was the only one with enough sartorial devil-may-care to put the two together. Reese, you are inspo to us all. Isn’t she the very definition of country cool girl?

The ladies are decked out in Reese’s clothing line Draper James, and a quick peek at the label’s Insta shows that this fall, Reese’s clothing line is very much supporting our desire to mix denims.
