CHELSEA, MI - St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea has announced the chairs for the 32nd Annual Auction Denim and Diamonds, with a goal of raising $500,000 to renovate the hospital's Behavioral Health Services unit.

Chelsea residents Jeff Hall and Chad Losey are serving as chairs for the annual event, taking place at 6 p.m. May 13 at Zingerman's Cornman Farms at 8540 Island Lake Road in Dexter.

According to a statement from St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea, Hall is the founder and president of Ann Arbor-based customer experience research firm Second to None. He is serving on the Board of Trustees for St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea and is a member of the St. Joseph Mercy Health System's Regional Development Council.

Losey is the director of business development at Second to None, with clients that include Best Buy, ExxonMobil and FedEx Office.

Hall and Losey have pledged a $25,000 Diamond Sponsorship for the annual auction. The community is fortunate to have St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea, Hall said in a hospital statement.

"Gifts of sponsorships, auction items and attendance at this great event will help to enhance the healing environment of the unit, ultimately improving the health and quality of life of patients, and allow St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea to continue to serve as a beacon of hope in our community," Hall said.

St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea's Behavioral Health Services has offered the community help with diagnoses like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, addiction and thought disorders such as schizophrenia for more than 40 years, the hospital statement said.

It includes a 30-bed psychiatric unit, and is known for being the only hospital in Michigan with both a secured and an open unit in Behavioral Health Services.
