Hundreds dress in their best denim for Roanoke's Denim and Diamonds Gala - WDBJ7

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) - Don't be fooled by the casual attire - because Saturday night's Denim and Diamonds event is anything but casual when it comes to finding a cure for juvenile diabetes.

More than 400 people packed a tent at the Shenandoah Club downtown in their best denim attire.

WDBJ7's Logan Sherill and Jean Jadhon helped out with the live auction. The 15th annual gala is used to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Letticia Furrow, a local woman with diabetes, said she was glad to support a cause dear to her heart.

"I think the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation is an amazing organization that has been just an inspiration to our family," she said. "And we're just dreaming for a cure that I feel is within hands reach."

The gala also honored Advanced Auto parts as thanks for the enormous support they've given to JDRF over the past decade.
