Summer fashion trends: denim, pastels and florals - News-Press Now

Nana's Bloomers in St. Joseph was the perfect backdrop for spring fashion trends.

And while florals aren't necessarily new this year, they are all the rage. Denim overalls, jelly sandals and anything with flowers on it is are growing in popularity and generally act as a key statement piece.

The bold prints can be paired with a complementary solid or denim. The purple floral leggings, which we picked up from Kmart, paired well with a flowing gray top and simple strap shoe. A simple pink tank was perfect underneath a pink floral kimono, also from Kmart, and finished out with a cuffed denim jean and wedge sandal.

Floral dresses, however, don't need much accessorizing. Just pair them with a cute bootie or open-toed sandal and you're ready to go.

About our models: Samantha Taylor is from our cover. Katelyn Radtka is the daughter-in-law of Sharon Radtka, the owner of Nana's Bloomers. She is a social worker at Mosaic Life Care.

Radtka and her husband, Nick, have been married since 2011 and have two children together, Saylor, 7, and Rennick, 5. Radtka also has a daughter, Rhian, 13.

When the couple first met, Radtka said she was introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and has been hooked ever since. They train at St. Joseph Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Deryck Ripley. The Radtkas just returned from California where they competed in one of the biggest tournaments in North America.
