November Denim And Diamonds Fall Ball To Support Community Health Initiatives - The Chattanoogan

Physicians, community leaders, and friends will come together on Nov. 16 for the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society and Foundation’s Denim and Diamonds Fall Ball 2019. The event will be held at Stratton Hall and tickets are on at www.chattdenim.net. The event is co-sponsored by the CHCMS Alliance.

This will be the 14th annual Denim and Diamonds fundraiser, which helps support the Project Access community health partnership, the LifeBridge Physician Wellbeing Initiative, educational programs, and a wide range of other health initiatives.

Fall Ball 2019 is being presented by sponsors Henderson Hutcherson & McCullough and Vascular Institute of Chattanooga. The evening will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres; seasonal cocktails and beverages; dancing to a live DJ; a karaoke lounge; a sports lounge with live football on big screen TV; a silent auction; and many surprises.

Entertainment will be provided by SoundForce, and Chattanooga broadcasting icons Chip Chapman and Gene Lovin return as emcees for the evening’s festivities.

Attendees are invited to attend in evening attire, their favorite team’s football jersey, or even this year’s Halloween costume. Or, better yet, they can come as they are.

“Denim and Diamonds has always been one of Chattanooga’s premier events, and we make every effort to deliver a special experience each year,” said Rae Bond, Medical Society and Foundation chief executive officer. “And since fall is the season of the harvest, we want the community to know how much we appreciate the gifts they share to support our programs to improve community health.”

Project Access connects uninsured residents of Hamilton County with specialty care, hospital care, and other services. It has coordinated $189 million in donated health care to the working poor since its inception in April 2004. For each dollar spent on program operations, $25 in charity care is generated for those who have few other options.

“Project Access literally saves lives,” Mrs. Bond said. “The funds we raise at Denim & Diamonds support this work so that we can continue to help as many people as possible.

“The Fall Ball also supports our LifeBridge physician well-being program. LifeBridge is a safety net of resources for doctors who are at risk of burnout. The program tries to care for our caregivers.

“Proceeds from the event also support future doctors. The Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine and Medical Explorations programs offer opportunities for high school and college students to job  shadow local physicians and participate in medical vocation classroom education. Some of our graduates now are in medical schools and residencies.”

Fall Ball 2019 is open to the public. Table sponsorships are available and individual tickets are $125. To purchase a table or tickets, call the Medical Society at 622-2872 or visit www.chattdenim.net.

Sponsorship opportunities, including exclusive sponsorships, are available ranging from $500 to $10,000. For more information, contact Bill Tobin at 622-2872.
