Founded in 2017, BOTTER is the brain-child of founder Rushemy Botter and creative partner, Lisi Herrebrugh, shortly after graduating from Antwerp’s Royal Academy. The label has since been creating unique garments heavily influenced by Rushemy’s Curaçaoian roots, incorporating Caribbean-inspired designs refined by his highly technical fashion background. One of BOTTER’s latest pieces is the Upside Down Cotton Denim Jacket, informed by sleek lines and asymmetrical cuts.
Built with a classic shirt collar, the shirt comes with a detachable strap that hangs off the right shoulder. The right chest pocket has been flipped upside down, with two long seams running upwards. Below it is a rounded hemline, accented by an arched cut out at the side. The left side of the jacket is made with all the familiar details of a classic denim jacket – like a standard chest pocket – to offset the irregular designs of the right half of the piece. Made in Italy, the garment has been treated with a light wash while minimal silver-toned buttons embossed with “BOTTER” round up the jacket.
The BOTTER Upside Down Cotton Denim Jacket is currently available at luisaviaroma.com for $748 USD.
